Different working conditions and different failure forms of non-standard gears are the basis for determining the calculation criteria of gear strength, material selection and heat treatment.
1. When using low carbon steel: the forging process is blank → normalization → rough cutting → quenching and tempering → fine cutting → carburizing surface quenching → low temperature tempering → tooth grinding. Up to 6th and 7th grades.
Common materials: 20cr, 20crmnti, 20mnb, 20crmnto; Features: High hardness of tooth surface and strong bearing capacity. It is more suitable for occasions with high speed, heavy load, or compact structure.
2. Cast steel: When the precision gear is more than 400mm in diameter and it is difficult to forge with complex structure, continuous cast steel can be used; Zg45. zg55, standardized, standardized and conditionalized.
3. Cast iron: strong anti-scratch and pitting resistance, but poor resistance to impact wear. Suitable for smooth running, low power, low speed or large size, complex shapes. Can work in the absence of oil, suitable for open drive.
4. Non-metallic materials: cloth, wood, plastic, nylon, suitable for high speed and light load.
